Yeah, that’s me. I mod this blog from my stronghold inside a giant geode amongst the secret undercrofts of the Mystical Metroplex; I was going to write on goblin-skin parchment but my quill ran out of ink, so I had to start putting it on Tumblr.
Okay, so, I used this in my campaign but gave it a lot more detail. One of my players spotted it on a table, and was automatically drawn to it. Today i revealed to him that the pencil was cursed. Firstly, it of course can only be used every 4 minutes. (I interpret this as, it’s one stroke every 4 minutes. so you just can’t lift up the pencil). Then, I revealed to him that while you are attuned to the pencil, you are cursed to protect it with your life. When other people view it, they are automatically drawn to it as he originally was, and they’ll try to bargain, steal, and even fight him for it. On top of that, while attuned, you can ONLY write with that pencil. Nothing else. So, if he writes in public, others will notice, thus them trying to take it from him. If he even shows it to the party, they’ll want it from him. It’s pretty much driving him to insanity.
The curse can only be broken with someone else’s remove curse spell, or the pencil being taken from you with no way to get it back, thus ending attunement. But, if you see the pencil again, you’ll want it back.
Also, it’s fireproof, needs a strength check of 32 to break, and has an infinite supply of graphite. AND it’s a weapon. 1 Damage with a 10% chance of getting stuck in the enemy.
