Encounter: the result of a horrible experiment gone wrong: half-Halfling, half-Orb; its mouth no longer works as such, but it still loves to magically absorb food and drink, negating any poisons and passing on any magical effects to the creature of its choosing, if you can keep its attention long enough to have its loyalty.
Item: the fORB; shows more intelligence and independence than most orbs, communicating mostly through near-gibberish. Those with more experience with normal Furbies might be able to give more detail as to its behavior, but my first thought was the surrealism of the Pantry app, which grants the ability to transform objects: it can clean skeletons, carve carrots into totems of itself, and produce keys by consuming clothing.

@randomitemdrop suggestion: 42,000 matches – burns for 1 minute. Deals fire/bludgeoning damage when lit and launched at a creature within range. It is immovable from the point where it lands and opens a black hole to the ethereal plane as the flame dies, sucking in everything in range. Creatures within range at the end of 1 minute must succeed a saving throw or be sucked in.
