this is the swimming french horn playing financial advisor he does those things I just said

@randomencounters

Encounter: please don’t let my youthful appearance fool you, sir, I have helped many clients make the best use of their treasure. My advice is simple: the R. I. S. Strategy. What does that stand for? Rent, Invest, Start. Rent your equipment, Invest your winnings, and the Start is because when I handle your accounts I can play this French horn and grant you Bardic Initiative on your credit checks. Oh, the swim goggles? I just came from swim practice.

D&D character concept:

a bard who plays this

Encounter: a bard that only plays an officially-licensed Kirby-brand Otamatone; presumably has some really horrific spell where they inhale enemies through it to steal their powers and equipment

Encounter: Rappin’ Mike the belt-mounted-turntable bard (multiclass Party Dude), chaotic-good turtlefolk. The disc currently in his player is a custom-ripped 45 extended mix of (obviously) “Ninja Rap” by Vanilla Ice and his spells are performed through scratching; additional bonuses could be added if you managed to find him a 45 with some enchantment laid on it. Cannot give Bardic bonuses to stealth or sneak attacks, because I mean look at him.

  • Knuckledusters: +3 on punching attacks
  • Microphone nunchuku: the sounds generated by getting hit with a microphone are simultaneously played over the speakers, drawing attention to the attack to remove a point of Morale from the opponent’s party.
  • Kowa-Cymbal Shields: any time these small brass shields are used to successfully deflect an attack, they deal 3 Sonic damage to the attacker.
  • Rappin’ ‘n Scratchin’ Turntable: Yo, def, dudes! Be chillin’ to the thrillin’! (I have no idea what this is supposed to mean)

Encounter: David Byrne, bard with the ability to wear clothing and armor of his own size class or larger. Special feats when added to your party:

  • Burning Down the House: once per day may cause a building to catch on fire, leaving Nothing But Flowers
  • Dowsing: +5 on knowledge checks when looking for water underground
  • Stay Up Late: negates the need for sleep for one character by holding onto them, allowing them to stay up all night
  • Pleasant Elevation: allows characters to levitate

I’ll be honest with y’all, I’ve had this monstrosity queued for weeks trying to figure out what it’s supposed to be. The god of canned beans? Acne goblin? Raisin bread golem? I tried a reverse image lookup and this is what i got: it’s the Pope.
