The 9 o’clock Horses

Grandma used to tell us, when my sister and I were kids. That if we were not in bed before 9. The horses would come and take us away.

There is very little info about them but I believe it’s a folk tale originating from Leistershire and is related to curfew threats to child labourers in the industrial era of Britain.

Encounter: curfew-enforcing hell-horses

Encounter: Rappin’ Mike the belt-mounted-turntable bard (multiclass Party Dude), chaotic-good turtlefolk. The disc currently in his player is a custom-ripped 45 extended mix of (obviously) “Ninja Rap” by Vanilla Ice and his spells are performed through scratching; additional bonuses could be added if you managed to find him a 45 with some enchantment laid on it. Cannot give Bardic bonuses to stealth or sneak attacks, because I mean look at him.

  • Knuckledusters: +3 on punching attacks
  • Microphone nunchuku: the sounds generated by getting hit with a microphone are simultaneously played over the speakers, drawing attention to the attack to remove a point of Morale from the opponent’s party.
  • Kowa-Cymbal Shields: any time these small brass shields are used to successfully deflect an attack, they deal 3 Sonic damage to the attacker.
  • Rappin’ ‘n Scratchin’ Turntable: Yo, def, dudes! Be chillin’ to the thrillin’! (I have no idea what this is supposed to mean)
